 | The blogging journey begins again - this time re-visiting my love for running :) | Jul 26, 2005 |
After a couple of short races, I've decided to take the plunge and give the half marathon a try. Standard Chartered has always been known for organizing excellent races, and dad completed not one, but two full Standard Chartered Marathons in Singapore. Even though he's no longer around, I'm now even more determined to keep his running spirit alive. Join me in my running journey as I train towards 28 June 2009, my very first half marathon. Don't be shy - drop a note in the comment box, it's always nice to hear from bloggers and runners and even non-runners :) Milo Ais, Satu! (roughly translated into One Iced Milo, please!) -- simply because for me, the best part of a run is not the personal records or the medals or the certificates. It's when you grab a well-deserved paper cup filled with the best Milo in the world from the Milo van compliments of Nestle. I think all runners in Malaysia would know what I mean, at that point in time when you reach the end of the queue, it's the most amazing Milo drink ever :D -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Updates: August 2009 Upon completing my very first half-marathon, I'm now preparing for the second one in Singapore. Thank you for accompanying me on my previous journey, let's do it once again! Updates: December 2009 Completed my second half-marathon in Singapore! Everyone's asking when I'm doing the full...when the time is right and when I'm ready for it, I will. In the meantime, I'll continue running with Mum :) Updates: February 2010 Signed up for the 21K in Bidor. I don't expect a PB but just aim to enjoy the run surrounded by nature. An safe and injury-free run is what I'm aiming for :) Updates: April 2010 Completed my third half-marathon in Bidor. Pretty much the same timing as Singapore but one could consider it an improvement given the tougher route. Hot and hilly!! Signed up for another half-marathon in June...let's see where that takes me... Updates: June 2010 Completed the SeeJaneRun Half Marathon in Alameda, California. An all-women's run with chocolate and champagne flutes at the finishing line. Personal best of 02:31:47. Updates: October 2010 Completed the Rock n Roll San Jose Half Marathon. Live bands at every mile, motivating us on. Official time: 02:23:44. Updates: December 2010 Did the Singapore Standard Chartered 21K. | | Journal | Aug 28, 2011 |
I used to come here as kid during weekends! And then I remember training here for a while when I just started working. Decided to pay the park a visit and did a 5km run in the evening. The jogging path was kinda hard, so I... more | | | Photos | May 17, 2009 |
